FORGET HIM NOT
Read Mark 8:14-21
“Indeed,
we have two mentalities that are common with the disciples – being forgetful
and doubtful. Sometimes it is easy to forget what God has already done for us
and to doubt what He is capable of doing for us. Worst, we tend to forget and
doubt who He is and who He can be to us. It is easy for us to worry when
testing or problems come our way and let it consume us. What we don’t know is
that it robs us from the joy of knowing God’s abundant provision for us.
Thank
God He is very patient to us. He gives us plenty room for transformation in our
lives. He knows our capacities and limitations as we are still in the flesh.
Let us constantly ask God to fill our hearts with the truth of His grace, mercy
and love. Moreover, let us trust His provident care for us.

from Light To My Path Each Day 2014 Quiet Time Guide by Scripture Union)
As Christians, we wanted to do good
and please God in every way we can. But since we are still in the flesh, there
are times that we really fail. And during these times, we tend to focus on our
weaknesses, our failures and our sins instead of focusing on God’s ability to
forgive us and transform our lives for His glory.
Today’s devotional is really a
reminder for me as I am going through a struggle that I’m having for years.
Indeed, I should focus on Jesus and not on my weakness. I must keep on
believing that He is able to let me overcome and be victorious so that His Name
will be glorified in my life. Once again, I’m reminded that He who began a good
work in me is faithful to complete it. I am a work in progress. God is not done
yet. I should focus on Him as He works in me.
